How do you fit in?

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be accountable to act as a legal resource for all corporate functions of the global enterprise.



What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as a legal resource for all corporate functions of the global enterprise, including HR, information technology, finance and EHS
  • Manage records for the corporation and its subsidiaries and prepare materials for board and shareholder meetings as directed by the General Counsel
  • Assist in the drafting and review of securities and corporate disclosure documents
  • Participate in the development, improvement, drafting and revision of internal policies
  • Support finance and treasury related activities, including M&A transactions, public financing and banking activities
  • Draft, negotiate and review supply chain contracts, primarily related to IT procurement matters
  • Liaise and coordinate legal services with external counsel
  • Research and provide updates to management on applicable laws, regulations, and policies affecting the business, in various jurisdictions



What you must have:

  • 3-6 years’ post-call experience in-house or at top tier law firm
  • Experience handling human resources, information technology, privacy, corporate governance, regulatory, and/or litigation matters preferred
  • A law degree (LL.B. or Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school and eligibility to practice in Canada. Qualification to practice in one of the jurisdictions of the US or experience in supporting business operations in the US is an asset
  • Pragmatic approach to legal services
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with business partners across all levels of the enterprise
