Molson Coors is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its Americas Legal & Government Affairs team, based in Toronto, Ontario. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel - Canada.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Base Salary Range: $142,700.00 – $187,300.00 CAD
  • Short-Term Incentive: 20% target bonus
  • Long-Term Incentive: $15,000 USD + 600 Non-Qualified Stock Options target

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support the growth of a team of legal colleagues through regular career discussions and 1-on-1 coaching.
  • Commercial & Regulatory Legal Counsel: Provide strategic legal advice and risk assessments to Canadian sales and commercial teams regarding trade practices, pricing, shopper marketing, and revenue management.
  • Contractual & Commercial Transactions: Review, draft, negotiate, and amend complex commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with company risk tolerance and applicable laws.
  • Dispute Resolution & Risk Management: Manage legal risks, resolve commercial disputes, and represent Molson Coors on complex matters with clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and enhance contract management workflows, standard procedures, templates, and playbooks.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications: Law degree (LL.B. / J.D.) and active membership in good standing with a provincial bar.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of combined law firm and in-house experience, ideally within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or beverage industry.
  • Core Competencies: Proven technical legal expertise paired with strong business acumen; exceptional contract drafting and negotiation skills; and a demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments.
