LABOUR, EMPLOYMENT AND HUMAN RIGHTS ASSOCIATE
VANCOUVER OFFICE (1-5 Years Call)
We have an immediate opening for an associate (1-5 year call) to join our Vancouver office to work in our Labour, Employment and Human Rights (LEHR) group.
As one of the largest national LEHR practices in Canada, we are able to comprehensively assist clients with their LEHR needs across the country in a coordinated manner. We represent major federally regulated employers including banks, airlines, telecommunication companies and Crown corporations. We also advise many significant employers in a broad range of provincially regulated sectors including retail, manufacturing, mining, forestry, education, financial services, among others.
Although Fasken is BC’s largest law firm with over 155 lawyers in our Vancouver office, we pride ourselves on having a close-knit and supportive culture that provides each associate with a supervising partner mentor who takes an active interest in each associate’s development, as well as a comprehensive training program for associates. The LEHR group has the feel of working in a boutique LEHR practice and has been ranked for many years as “Band 1” or top tier by Chambers for LEHR in BC.
The successful candidate will have experience handling labour, employment and human rights matters, a strong academic record, excellent judgment and good interpersonal skills. We are interested in a service-oriented and responsive lawyer who is able to plan and deliver on complex files. Previous experience at a major law firm, or boutique is preferred.
