Senior Legal Counsel

Reporting to the VP & Associate General Counsel, the Senior Legal Counsel position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to provide sophisticated legal advice on a wide range of third-party risk management activities, technology contracting, outsourcing, and corporate law matters for the Bank.

What you'll do:

  • Leverage your expertise in third-party risk management, non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing arrangements, licenses, cloud and SaaS agreements, consulting arrangements, and technology aspects of commercial arrangements to provide practical legal solutions.
  • Support various business units within the Bank, representing the Legal Department on a variety of matters, including third-party risk management and contractual arrangements (including precedent development, knowledge management, and regulatory submissions).
  • Contribute to the Bank's living will/resolution plan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and drive business results.

What you'll need:

  • A strong academic background, including a law degree from a recognized institution.
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant legal experience at a major financial institution or law firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of third-party risk management, non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing arrangements, licenses, cloud and SaaS agreements, consulting arrangements, and technology aspects of commercial arrangements.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
  • Knowledge of OSFI Guideline B-10 is an asset.
