Legal Services in the Office of General Counsel is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Legal Assistant.
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel (AGC), Litigation, Student Appeals and Policy, the Legal Assistant plays a key role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the team reporting to the AGC. The Legal Assistant also provides support to other teams within Legal Services. Work demands in the office consist of high volumes of work, rapidly changing priorities, and dealing with competing pressures and deadlines. This position generally works with minimal supervision supporting a high volume of work. The role requires the ability to work under pressure in this fast-paced environment. Considerable discretion is also necessary as the position is privy to and works with sensitive, highly confidential information. This role must demonstrate a high level of professionalism when liaising with internal and external members of the University community. This position requires exceptional collaboration and problem solving which is achieved through the establishment of relationships with key University team members.
The Legal Assistant is the primary administrative legal support to all the activities undertaken by the Litigation, Student Appeals, and Policy and Commercial Legal teams and is also accountable for administrative services, including office management and coordination. To this end, this position requires a clear understanding of institutional priorities and the role of the team in achieving the University's goals and objectives
