Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a lawyer to join our team in Burnaby to act in the role of Legal Counsel, Policy & Regulation of Firms ("LCPR"), for a 2-year term.
The LCPR is a 2-year, full-time, contract position. Reporting to the Director, Legislation, Ethics and Compliance, the LCPR is responsible for creating and implementing the policy and procedures associated with the upcoming requirement of Engineers and Geoscientists BC to regulate firms employing engineers and geoscientists.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The successful applicant will possess the following:
1. A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree
2. A member of the Law Society of BC (or eligible for membership)
3. A minimum of 4-7 years of relevant experience:
a) in a law firm, government, or professional regulatory body, and
b) with litigation, government, or in the practice of administrative law;
