Mandatory requirements
• You must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

You have knowledge of: • case management procedures, techniques and standards within an adjudicative cluster responsible for hearing appeals, including Rules of Practice, administrative law and the adjudicative process • the appeal process to higher courts (e.g. Divisional Court) and jurisdiction of other adjudicative tribunals
Communication and interpersonal skills
You have: • oral communication skills to respond to various inquiries and issues from represented and self-represented parties regarding the adjudicative process • written communication skills to draft a range of materials including letters to parties, documents required in support of the hearing process, and correspondence for signature • You can exchange information with the clients of multiple tribunals
Analytical and issues management skills

▪Works in consultation with other service unit Directors, Education Directors, Superintendents, schools, internal and external consultants and other professional agencies to obtain information and/or resolve issues pertaining to the functions of the Service Unit.

What are we looking for?
Education and Experience
▪Qualified to practice law in Alberta
▪Minimum ten years general practice experience in some or all of the following areas of the law: labour; contracts; employment, education; insurance; negligence; family; real property; administrative; and general litigation.
▪Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience.
▪Experience with public sector organizations, K-12 educational institutions is preferred.

Establishes effective governance structures and processes:
▪Serves as a member of the Superintendents’ Team. Participates in planning, establishment of strategies, goals, objectives, regulations, procedures of the system, Board delegated matters, Board Governance, Board Policies and legislated duties pursuant to the Education Act.
▪In conjunction with the Chief Superintendent, supports the monitoring and adherence to Board Policies and establishes standards, procedures, work plans consistent with Administration Regulations and Board Policies for the Service Unit.
▪Works in consultation with other service unit Directors, Education Directors, Superintendents, schools, internal and external consultants and other professional agencies to obtain information and/or resolve issues pertaining to the functions of the Service Unit.
▪Coordinates preparations of administrative reports to the board and Administrative Committee meetings. Reviews, evaluates and approves submission and placement of the agenda. Monitors implementation of decisions made at the administrative meetings and the Board. Prepares progress reports on implementation of decisions for the attention of the Chief Superintendent and communicates board decisions to appropriate agencies or individuals.
Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders:
▪Represents the CBE on boards, committees and at public meetings as required. Builds relationships with Provincial and external stakeholders.

What are we looking for?
Education and Experience
▪Qualified to practice law in Alberta
▪Minimum ten years general practice experience in some or all of the following areas of the law: labour; contracts; employment, education; insurance; negligence; family; real property; administrative; and general litigation.
▪Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience.
▪Experience with public sector organizations, K-12 educational institutions is preferred.
▪Familiarity with the Education Act, Labour Relations Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Child Welfare and related legislation, Human Rights Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Charter of Rights.

Cet emploi te permet d’avoir un impact positif sur notre organisation; ton talent sera mis à contribution pour faire évoluer la culture du risque réglementaire, et influencer les secteurs d’affaires en combinant la gestion de projet à l’expertise juridique.
Ton emploi
Faire évoluer les concepts liés aux exigences réglementaires et en assurer leurs applications dans le cadre des projets d’envergure.
Agir comme experte ou expert auprès des intervenants et de la direction dans les décisions nécessitant une expertise sur l’interprétation et l’application des exigences réglementaires.
Soutenir les équipes de projets pour s’assurer de la conformité de la Banque aux exigences réglementaires dans le domaine bancaire (Loi sur les banques, Cadre de protection du consommateur, Lutte au blanchiment d’argent, etc.).
Travailler en étroite collaboration avec tes partenaires pour établir les impacts transversaux des nouveautés réglementaires sur les secteurs d'affaires.
Évaluer les risques afin d’orienter les décisions stratégiques dans des initiatives porteuses pour la Banque.
Mettre en place des cadres de gouvernance soutenant les activités du portefeuille réglementaire.
Participer activement aux discussions sectorielles et aux rencontres de l’industrie.

Au sein du secteur de la Conformité, tu fais partie d’une grande équipe d’experts passionnés et tu relèves de la directrice principale, Gouvernance et Portefeuille réglementaire. Prérequis
Être membre du Barreau du Québec ou de la Chambre des notaires
Détenir un baccalauréat et 7 à 10 ans d’expérience pertinente, ou une maîtrise et 6 ans d’expérience
Avoir de l’expérience en conformité réglementaire, gestion du risque ou gestion de projets
Posséder une bonne connaissance des produits et services bancaires destinés aux clientèles Particuliers et Entreprises
Maîtriser l’environnement réglementaire applicable aux institutions financières (Loi sur les banques, RPCFAT, protection du consommateur, etc.)
Capacité à vulgariser des concepts juridiques complexes
