Job Description
Chaitons LLP is an established boutique firm with a reputation for excellence.
We are looking for a lawyer with 2 to 5 years’ experience to assist with our busy mortgage enforcement practice. While the successful candidate will assist with general litigation matters, the primary focus of the position will be on litigation related to enforcement of mortgagee's rights, including preparing motions for summary judgment; construction lien matters; title insurance litigation; property insurance litigation; priority disputes; filing defences to claims or counterclaims against our lender clients; court orders discharging CPL’s on title; litigation against condominium corporations; responding to motions to set aside default judgments and writs of possession; references and motions for partition and sale in foreclosure actions; actions for trespass; section 50 and 52 Mortgage Act applications; tenant proceedings and responding to Appeals. The successful candidate will assist senior counsel and have ample opportunity to appear in court.
