Loopstra Nixon LLP, a mid-size Toronto law firm, is seeking entry level Legal Assistants to join our various fast-paced practice areas. The successful candidate should be organized, proactive, a team player and confident in supporting multiple lawyers.
This role is an in-office position. A successful candidate can choose to work from the Downtown Toronto or Etobicoke office.
DUTIES:
- Prepare and draft correspondence
- Prepare monthly pre-bills
- Work on multiple transactions and matters simultaneously
- Organization and maintenance of lawyer files
- Scheduling meetings and maintaining lawyers’ calendars
- Administrative support, including opening and closing files and docketing
- Assist with responding to telephone inquiries, faxes and emails
- Assist with preparation of closing documents
- Maintain file and critical dates lists
REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree or college diploma (Legal Administration or Law Clerk diploma preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Decisiveness and ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal direction/supervision
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel / Word / Outlook)
- Previous administrative experience is an asset.
