Supporting the delivery of appropriate level of service from external counsel, including aggressively managing costs on matters for which external counsel is retained.
Handling special projects, for example, to increase efficiencies.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or a Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (must retain status)
5+ years of legal practice experience, particularly in commercial law and manufacturing and supply chain agreements
Experience and comfort advising on US contracts
Experience working in a global legal environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex legal issues in an easy to understand manner
Business oriented and pragmatic approach to problem solving
Skill in analyzing and solving issues related to a wide variety of substantive legal areas
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Pharmaceutical or other regulated industry experience highly desirable
Experience working with the following:
in-house in a multinational company
technology and/or energy transactions /projects
supporting CMO deals (contract manufacturing organizations)
supporting a Global Procurement organization
English law contracts and common law jurisdictions
