This busy practice requires a candidate with the ability to prioritize and multitask on a regular basis as well as aid their dedicated team of lawyers with administrative tasks. Location: Toronto 

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing/revising/drafting/transcribing/blacklining legal documents from written, oral and taped instructions 
  • Initiating follow up as required; Organizing and expediting work flow 
  • Drafting routine correspondence on behalf of lawyers 
  • Applying proofreading and editing skills to documents and correspondence 
  • Scheduling appointments/meetings and calendar management 
  • Obtaining information and instructions from clients 
  • Assisting in management of lawyer’s practice, i.e., opening files, arranging meetings, arranging travel and/or accommodations 
  • Performing administrative duties with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, billing, etc. 
  • Managing bring forward system and keeping lawyers apprised of office matters 
  • Providing administrative support to lawyers as required 
  • Other general administrative duties as required   


  • Minimum 3 years of litigation experience. 
  • Superior communication skills, outstanding organization and multi-tasking abilities 
  • Excellent technical skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Visio experience an asset 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external clients 
  • Familiar with Internet applications as well as digital dictation software 
  • Ability to be organized, multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines and exhibit sound judgment with minimal supervision 
  • Able to work well under pressure, be flexible and adapt when necessary
