Job Information Legal Division is the in-house law firm for the Government of the Northwest Territories. Legal Division employs approximately 20 lawyers practicing in a variety of areas, including litigation, environmental and regulatory law, solicitor services, constitutional law, and aboriginal law. Legal Division is currently seeking a lawyer to join its Solicitor Services group. Areas of work would include: Reviewing and Drafting Contracts and other legal documents; Real Property Transactions; Providing advice on Lands and Regulatory issues; Providing advice and support in Government Procurement processes; Providing Legal Advice to all client departments on a variety of issues relating to government operations. The successful candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in at least one of the areas of law noted above. The successful candidate must have some familiarity with real property law. Legal Division is a team environment. Lawyers must have effective communication skills and must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others, including clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
