   About this Role  
 We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a talent for balancing multiple priorities to join our team as a  Legal Assistant Float . In this dynamic role, you will support various lawyers across all practice areas, providing assistance in a range of legal matters while working in a collaborative and supportive team environment, ultimately contributing to the success of our firm. 
   
  Core Duties and Responsibilities  
 As a Float, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: 
 
 Handle a variety of tasks, including managing mail, couriers, faxes, and document scanning, with priorities that may shift throughout the day 
 Draft routine correspondence and transcribe dictations, producing legal documents as needed for different practice areas 
 Respond to client inquiries and assist with drop-ins, maintaining professional communication with clients and key parties 
 Conduct client intake, conflict checks, and manage client files, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records 
 Schedule and organize meetings, discoveries, and mediations, while managing the lawyer’s changing calendar 
 Adapt to changing workloads, supporting different lawyers, and working across various settings and areas of the firm as needed 
 
 
   
   Qualifications and Skills  
 
 Graduate of a Legal Assistant/Paralegal program, or equivalent combination of training and experience 
 Previous Legal Assistant experience 
 Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service including patience, empathy and understanding 
 Excellent analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management skills 
 Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative with minimal supervision 
 Adept at using technology such as Outlook and the full Microsoft Office suite, and a talent for learning new computer programs quickly 
 Excellent typing and dicta-transcription skills 
 A positive team player who contributes to a good team environment 
 Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to type check material for grammatical, typographical, spelling, diction, and formatting errors
