What you will do:

Evaluate new inventions and decide which ideas should become patents.
Collaborate with a global team of inventors and innovators during creative ideation sessions.
Own the process of drafting and filing patent applications, sometimes teaming up with patent attorneys worldwide.
Manage your own portfolio, prioritizing what’s important and keeping projects on track.
Help shape and optimize Ericsson’s patent collection, identifying hidden gems and trimming what’s less relevant.
Support licensing deals and legal battles by mapping patents to products and providing key insights.

The skills you bring:
Here is what makes you a great fit:
A solid academic background in telecom, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or something similar.
3+yrs of experience.
Strong communication skills to clearly share ideas and collaborate with diverse teams and an ability to break down complex ideas so everyone understands.
You know your way around patents - from evaluating inventions to drafting and prosecuting applications across Canada, the US, and beyond.
You understand the complexities of patent infringement and legal considerations.
Bonus points if you’ve managed patent portfolios or are qualified to practice with CIPO or USPTO.
