This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a lawyer with business acumen and a relentless focus on the client experience. The successful candidate will join a dynamic legal team supporting Sun Life Canada’s investment and mutual fund dealer businesses.
This role may be based in Toronto or Waterloo under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work both remotely and in-office.
What will you do?
The successful candidate will be resilient, adaptable, highly motivated and self-confident. They will be required to provide proactive, timely and strategic legal support to senior business leaders and their teams relating to Securities and Regulatory matters, as well as related support areas such as Operations, Risk, Compliance and IT on a broad range of matters associated with mutual fund and individual securities distribution along with insurance-based wealth products and solutions. This role will also involve advising on applicable laws, regulatory reviews and inquiries, policies and procedures, client and estate inquiries, reviewing product and marketing materials, and drafting/negotiating agreements. The successful candidate will also participate in Sun Life’s advocacy initiatives on legal and regulatory developments and changes.

In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
