The Team
As part of the Corporate Affairs department, the Legal team enables the company to achieve its business objectives in a sustainable manner. Anchored in our commitment to ethics, quality and compliance, we apply a practical, risk-intelligent approach to decision-making, and find innovative and simple solutions in an increasingly complex environment. The team strategically manages the company’s legal affairs and are trusted advisors and business enablers across all Novo Nordisk Canada functions. The team reports locally into the Vice President, Corporate Affairs, but is also part of the broader North American (based out of Princeton, New Jersey) and global (based out of Copenhagen, Denmark) legal networks.
The Position
As Senior Counsel, you will report to the Director of Legal and you will be responsible for providing a broad spectrum of legal support to various client groups. You will partner across all lines of the business to ensure compliance with global and local requirements, including relevant laws, codes of conduct and policies. We operate in a frequently changing environment where tasks and priorities may change from one day to the next.
Education & Experience
You must have a minimum of four years of working experience as a lawyer either from a law firm and/or as in-house legal counsel, preferably with experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or healthcare sector. The right candidate has strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Moreover, you should be innovative, proactive and able to work well under pressure. You are a team player, but you also enjoy working independently. Experience in privacy law and fluency in French would be considered assets.
