Associate Lawyer - Real Estate/Construction and Corporate

A prominent Personal Injury Law Firm in Toronto is looking to expand into Real Estate/Construction and Corporate Law. We are looking for an energetic, business-minded lawyer to join our expanding team! 

An ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in both real estate/construction and corporate law.   

EXPERIENCE: 

For Real estate Construction 

• Lease transactions purchase and sale transactions 
• Experience in title review and the procurement of title insurance coverage 
• Handing all aspects of real estate transactions
• Attending to closings, reviewing title searches, registering transactions and documents, meeting with clients to review documentation, preparing reporting letters, and preparing other transactional documents 
• Contracts and liens 
• Reviewing complex loan commitments and other financial documents 
• Drafting legal documents in areas including corporate, real estate and  
• Liaising with clients, lawyers, and brokers 

For Corporate/Business  

• Experience with corporate organizations  
• Business financing 
• Business acquisitions and Dispositions 
• Structured financings and private placements 
• Ability to run corporate law files independently 
• Experienced in shareholder agreements, incorporations, amalgamations, share purchase 
  agreements, and corporate restructuring. 
• Experience in creating an external investor package 

Qualifications:  

• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario 
• 5+ year of work experience at a high volume firm preferred 
• Must be experienced in real estate and corporate law 
• Must be organized and possess excellent time management skills 
• Must have a strong understanding of real estate purchase, sale, mortgage transaction rules, and procedures 
• Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
• Ability to work as an individual and in a team environment 
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills 
• Ability to multi-task, work both independently and within a team-oriented environment 
• Excellent computer skills and use of Microsoft Office 365, specifically Word and Excel 
• Strong working knowledge of Teraview and other software pertinent to the position
