About the role
What you need to know:
We currently have an opportunity for a Legal Counsel position in our Toronto Office. This is a rare opportunity to join a global organization as part of a small local legal team tapped into a vast network of specialist counsel globally. This position will support Commercial Insurance Business (Casualty, Financial Lines, and Property) and Personal Insurance Business (Travel, and Accident & Health).
In this role, you will report to the Assistant General Counsel. This role has a flexibility work structure that allows a hybrid work schedule.
What your responsibilities will be:
As Legal Counsel, you will provide high quality Canada-specific legal advice to business and functional service units on a broad array of insurance and non-insurance related matters including: non-disclosure; outsourcing, distribution and vendor agreements; marketing materials and presentations; E-commerce and Website content; interpretation of legislation and regulatory updates; negotiation and sign-off of business related contracts and agreements; and active legal assistance in the modification of existing insurance products and the launch of new insurance products in the market.
