We’re looking for new talent to join us as we reinvent the future of energy. Across BC, we have a diverse team of more than 2,500 employees we can’t do without, yet we’re growing as fast as ever.
You may think we’re your standard utility that delivers natural gas and electricity, but we’re also into cool, innovative energy solutions. Think carbon capture, renewable energies and lower-carbon transportation for a start. We believe in creating a cleaner, healthier tomorrow.
If you like meaningful work, a dynamic environment and forward-thinking colleagues, build your career with us. You’ll get opportunities to grow, lead, solve, and create. So what are you waiting for? Let’s rethink energy together.
Your corporate law experience is unmatched and you can reliably provide sound legal advice on a host of subject matters. You understand the need to work closely with your clients and partners to achieve the best results. Sound like you? Then you should apply for our Legal Counsel role.
In this position, you will provide legal support on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters related to the energy industry, including procurement, real property law, information technology law, and advise our various internal departments.
The details mean everything, and your meticulous approach ensures your legal analysis and advice are always on the mark. Thanks to your finely tuned methods for organization, you can effectively work on projects simultaneously and provide timely support to your clients.
We are guided by our values every day, including our drive to be collaborative and customer-centric. With our shared passion for serving our customers, we look forward to how you can help us rethink our energy future.
Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
Safety is our number one priority, and to maintain the health and safety of our employees and broader communities, we have a number of COVID-19 safety measures in place. This includes a requirement for all new employees to provide proof of full vaccination, prior to their first day of work or the start of their employment. And of course, we will consider an accommodation for anyone who’s unable to be vaccinated due to a protected ground as defined by the Human Rights Code.

At FortisBC, we are building energy infrastructure in the province to ensure we meet our customers’ energy demands, today and in the future – safely, reliably and at the lowest reasonable cost.
We deliver approximately 21 per cent of the total energy consumed in British Columbia, which is the most energy delivered by any utility in the province. Whether delivering electricity, natural gas or propane, our more than 2,200 employees serve approximately 1.1 million customers in 135 communities.
FortisBC owns and operates approximately 48,200 kilometres of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines and approximately 7,200 kilometres of transmission and distribution power lines. Under our regulated utility operations, we also own and operate two liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facilities and four hydroelectric generating plants.
FortisBC Inc. and FortisBC Energy Inc. do business as FortisBC. We are indirectly wholly owned by our parent company Fortis Inc., a leader in the North American electric and gas utility business. Through its subsidiaries, Fortis Inc. serves more than three million natural gas and electricity customers.
