The opportunity


EY Canada is looking for an experienced candidate to help support the growth of our firm. You will join our General Counsel’s Office, our team of in-house lawyers. Our General Counsel's Office is a respected, integrated part of our professional services firm. You will act as a strategic advisor to our business and help EY's professionals negotiate complex commercial contracts with some of our most significant clients. Compensation is competitive.


Your key responsibilities

  • Work closely with EY business teams across Canada to help structure & negotiate commercial agreements, with a focus on technology transactions
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the business
  • Help us build out our internal expertise
  • Contribute to internal process improvement and training initiatives

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Licensed to practice law in any Canadian Province
  • 4-8 years corporate/commercial experience
  • Experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a sophisticated organization
  • Experience and interest in technology contracting
  • Ability to commute to one of our Canadian offices


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • French language ability
