An exciting opportunity exists to take on a newly created role as Legal Counsel for one of the world’s most prominent terminal operators. DP World Canada is looking to add a well-respected legal professional to its growing team. Reporting directly to the Director, Finance & Administration, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing and overseeing all legal matters impacting DP World Canada’s businesses and supporting DP World Canada’s executive management. Specifically, the Legal Counsel will oversee the provision of timely, cost effective and results-oriented legal expertise to all divisions of the Canadian operation.
The ideal candidate is an approachable and hands-on lawyer with thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and practices of corporate and commercial law. The new Legal Counsel will possess the passion, knowledge and energy to succeed in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. An ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to executive colleagues around the table, present options supported by sound research and make clear recommendations is critical. In addition to a law degree and membership in good standing with the BC Bar Association, the successful candidate is a natural relationship builder and has excellent interpersonal skills. Previous experience as in-house counsel would be an asset.
