This is an 18 month term position with a focus on document disclosure. The Paralegal Discipline, works as part of a team to support the work of the Discipline group of the Professional Regulation Department, in particular supporting Discipline Counsel in effectively carrying out the Discipline Committee directives related to discipline hearings and interim proceedings. This position works closely with lawyers and other staff in Discipline and other groups within the regulatory department and reports to the Manager, Discipline.

The duties of this position include:

  • Organizing evidence, reviewing documents for relevance and privilege, preparing disclosure indexes and assembling disclosure materials.
  • Assisting and supporting Discipline Counsel with hearing preparation.
  • Maintaining the Discipline group’s research and resources databases and library and citation outcome reports.
  • Providing research and other support to the Manager, Discipline on files handled by external counsel.
  • Performing such other duties as the Manager, Discipline may require.


  • A paralegal diploma supplemented by approximately two years of relevant experience in an investigative or litigation environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with computer software including: Microsoft Office, Excel, case and document management programs, and database and knowledge management systems.
  • Advanced legal research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detailed-oriented along with a demonstrated ability to handle and effectively prioritize a volume of work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
