The Contract Reviewer (CR) works closely with Stantec's lawyers, Project Managers and project staff. The CR provides assistance and expertise in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms for professional services according to Stantec policies.
Your Key Responsibilities
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract documents according to Stantec policies.
Identifying and communicating to project staff the negotiation items and other contract issues that must be resolved between Stantec and their clients, subconsultants and contractors prior to the execution of all contracts.
Assisting with the negotiation of contractual issues with Stantec clients when requested.
Reviewing and analyzing contract exceptions and modifications submitted by Stantec's clients.
Reviewing requests for proposals from a legal risk and Stantec policy perspective.
Customizing standard contract forms for specific projects when necessary.
Keeping management informed of contract negotiation status and issues.
Entering contract information and other data into database.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Word, Excel, Outlook is required.
Thorough knowledge of English composition and grammar with excellent proof reading skills, attention to detail and ability to learn new concepts (French literacy would be highly valued).
In addition to above responsibilities, candidate must have a ‘can-do' philosophy and be prepared to assist with other administration tasks in the office when necessary.
Keen attention to detail is a must.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in clerical/administrative work.
Minimum educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school. Legal assistant training would be an asset.
