The Legal team's mandate is to provide advice, guidance and oversight of Canadian Tire Bank (CTB) to ensure that activities are carried out in compliance with applicable laws. The Legal team also provides support to Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited (“CTC”) with respect to CTC’s loyalty programs. The Legal team strives to provide creative solutions and options that enable its clients to meet their business goals. The Legal department works closely with industry associations and regulatory bodies and with other departments at CTB and CTC. The Legal team also acts to reduce risk to the Canadian Tire brand. What you’ll do

The Senior Legal Analyst, Outsourcing & Contracts has the opportunity to work closely with various internal stakeholders. The Senior Legal Analyst, Outsourcing & Contracts will garner a firm understanding of CTB's activities and requirements in the following specific areas:

Contract governance, management and drafting

Regulatory requirements with respect to outsourcing arrangements as defined under OSFI’s Guideline B-10

Policy and operating directive review and drafting

Compliance training activities

Advertising and marketing

Act as the main contact and provide subject matter expertise for Legal and Contract Governance in the area of contract management

Drafting agreements

Act as the main contact for consultation on the contract management process for agreements outsourced to external legal counsel

Assist with more complex problem solving and decision making and identify and implement process improvement

Review customer-facing marketing and advertising material

Provide support to lawyers and General Counsel and Corporate Secretary relating to ad hoc projects and initiatives

What you bring

Minimum 3-5 years related experience in contract management or a related discipline

University Degree or College Diploma, preferably in the field of law

Deep knowledge and understanding of contract management principles and application

Understanding of OSFI’s B10 Guideline and outsourcing requirements under the Bank Act

Proven ability to influence specific business units on the necessity of a risk-based program in order to comply with organization directives and legislation

Understanding and appreciation for business needs and an ability to be flexible in assisting the business while at the same time ensuring that the requirements of the contract management process are fulfilled

Ability to respect and protect confidential customer and corporate data

Methodical work approach and ability to manage and prioritize work load

Attention to detail

Solid reading comprehension skills (incl. legal/government documents)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability for creative and agile thinking
