Position Highlights

ICBC has a terrific opportunity for a Corporate Paralegal to join our Corporate Law department team in North Vancouver.

You are an accurate, detail oriented Corporate Paralegal who has thorough knowledge of legal procedures, corporate

agreements and corporate structure. Your role will be to assist several very busy legal counsel with insurance agency broker

files, complex IT related files, other various corporate related matters, legal research and contracts. Your professionalism and

ability to interact and effectively communicate with individuals, at every level, is evident on a daily basis.

Position Requirements

Some of responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining necessary file information and documentation relating to IT technical contracts, insurance agency

broker contracts, corporate commercial matters and other related documentation.

  • Working with contracts, asset and share sales, amalgamations, corporate resolutions, officer’s certificates, and associated


  • Preparing contractual and other legal documents using original drafting, precedents and templates;
  • Performing corporate searches and other relevant legal inquiries;
  • Handling emails and calls which do not require a lawyer's attention;
  • Maintaining a "bring forward" system;
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal analysis in the form of a legal memorandum for review by corporate legal


  • Understanding and applying principles of confidentiality and conflicts of interest;
  • Responding to emails, telephone and other written inquiries from internal and external customers, legal counsel and staff, and

staff from other departments;

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will be an energetic self-starter with post-secondary paralegal education (certificate or diploma) from

an accredited educational institution and a few years of relevant experience.
