On behalf of the Attorney General, lawyers in the Legal Services Branch discharge the duties and functions assigned to the Attorney General under the Attorney General Act. As Civil Litigation Legal Counsel, you provide advice and appear, where necessary, in court and before administrative tribunals representing the Crown and are expected to negotiate and recommend settlements where appropriate. Your work involves matters of a confidential and sensitive nature and you have a broad range of professional skills that enable you to give advice at any time in an area of law outside the dimensions of your assigned legal responsibilities.
