PCF is an important business unit within LCL that manages and develops the products and service programs in order to improve the customer experience, maximize value, and provide a platform to enhance customer insights and relationships. The Summer Student with the Legal group will have the opportunity to partner with the entire Legal department and work independently and collectively with various members of the team. The premise behind working with the entire Legal team is to build relationships while having an impactful learning experience overall.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • The Summer Student will support the in-house lawyers and Law Clerks in the group to prepare contracts, internal process documents, and annual amendments to corporate policies.
  • Organize folders and documents and assist in inputting documents into a legal management system.
  • Proactively assist with daily operations and special projects as needed.
  • Help with administrative functions such as data base management, organization, filing, preparation of presentation/meeting materials, correspondence, creation of reports, spreadsheets and completion of special projects.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Ideally looking for a law student who has completed their first year of Law School.
  • Knowledge/experience gained working with a financial institution would be considered an asset.
  • Firsthand experience, comfort and knowledge with digital communication including social media platforms and mobile applications offered to Canadian consumers.
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to draft effective communications (emails, letters, memos and instructions) with exceptional grammar and proof-reading skills.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Attentive to detail, organized and resourceful with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, demanding and fast paced environment
  • Thrives while working as part of a team.
