Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the daily operation of a busy Partner and a Law Clerk within the Wills and Estates Department
  • Proofread, finalize and assemble estate planning documents including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and reporting documentation
  • Attending as a second witness for client signatures and see it through to completion including updating our specialized database
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
  • Handle administrative details with respect to monitoring emails, filing, accounting, opening and closing files, docketing and billing, etc.
  • Calendar management including arranging meetings
  • Assist with wills vault administration
  • The ability to be flexible to the changing demands of the job
Qualifications or Skills Required:
  • Three years’ previous legal experience, preferably in Wills and Estates
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary legal assistant and/or law clerk program
  • Strong technical skills using MS Office
  • Willingness to learn a customized wills database
  • Extremely organized and meticulous with follow-up and detail
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multitask
  • Flexible, team player that is client service oriented
  • Strong work ethic and committed to doing a good job
