The Opportunity: Paralegal

PwC Law LLP, Calgary is seeking at least one full-time corporate paralegal to assist us with our internal and external clients both nationally and internationally. We offer corporate legal services throughout Canada and are looking for a positive and independent individual to join a fast-paced working environment and to become part of our expanding legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate annual maintenance and compliance in all Canadian jurisdictions
  • Maintain corporate records including minute books, trust books and client files
  • Incorporations and extra-provincial registrations in all Canadian jurisdictions
  • Name changes and share structure amendments
  • Due diligence reviews and rectifications
  • Dissolutions and revivals
  • Amalgamations and continuances
  • Drafting various Directors and Shareholders Resolutions
  • Corporate reorganizations
  • Society, trust and partnership transactions
  • Working closely with our corporate team on the implementation of various transctions.

Requirements:

  • CORES Level I, II or III accreditation
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a corporate paralegal
  • Knowledge of legal and technical procedures, statutes, regulations and federal and provincial government practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Complex problem solving, resourcefulness and good analytical skills
  • Knowledge of ALF and/or other corporate software and provincial online registry systems is mandatory
  • Additional corporate, tax and trust law experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to work with innovative work tools and new technologies
  • Interested in working in a technology enabled corporate and tax law practice
