Are you looking to balance your life between work and the outdoors? The Hinton Crown Office is looking for a Crown Prosecutor, and you could be the one to help us out.

 

This position will primarily represent the Crown in criminal proceedings in Hinton. You will conduct criminal litigation in the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen's Bench; prepare legal arguments and opinions; and provide advice and assistance to law enforcement and community agencies. This opportunity will require you to use your strong decision making skills and work independently. Extensive travel is required between Jasper, Grande Cache, Edson, Whitecourt and Drayton Valley.

 

Publicized as the Gateway to the Rocky Mountains, Hinton is only a short 29 kilometers to the east gate of Jasper National Park. You will have the opportunity to experience a small town lifestyle as well as have a plethora of outdoor activities at your fingertips.

 

A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)/Juris Doctor (JD), active member or eligible for full membership with the Law Society of Alberta and related legal experience. Litigation experience in the area of criminal prosecution is preferred.

 

$3,125.11 - $6,970.31 bi-weekly

Candidates must have a valid driver's license for travel to circuit court locations. Final candidates will be asked to undergo security screening.

 

All candidates must attend the interview in person in either Edmonton or Hinton.

 

Classification and salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications. It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)

 

It is recommended that applicants include the assessment certificate from IQAS or any other educational assessment service as part of their application.
