We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join us in our Municipal, Planning & Environmental Law practice. The purpose of this position is to provide full clerical, administrative and general office duties to meet the needs of the firm and clients.
Practice and section support and promotion.
Previous legal assistant experience supporting a busy share/group preferred
Previous experience in municipal, land development law, or litigation an asset
Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize appropriately
Excellent client service skills
Knowledge of document management practices and general large firm office administration processes and procedures
Solid written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Proven problem solving skills, with the ability to be flexible and to work effectively with others
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite including: Outlook and Word
Knowledge of law firm accounting and workflow applications
Proficiency with applicable practice specific software and databases
Post-secondary education with a focus on legal administration or equivalent
Strong work ethic, demonstrated initiative, self-directed and advanced ability for task completion with minimal supervision
