The Opportunity: Canadian Immigration Lawyer


PwC Law LLP is looking for a Canadian Immigration Lawyer focused on compliance to provide a range of corporate immigration advisory services to manage the legal movement of clients across borders.




  • Research, study and maintain up to date knowledge of changing immigration laws, regulations and policies & practices and apply this knowledge to varied client situations;
  • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations to address and solve immigration individual and business issues, as necessary;
  • Confer with colleagues with specialties in appropriate areas of legal matters and verify bases for legal decisions;
  • General duties including managing a portfolio of high volume immigration files;
  • Provide guidance to applicants and HR representatives during the entire visa application process;
  • Manage internal administration staff;
  • Oversee the communication stream with clients to ensure that all enquiries are addressed;
  • Business Development and Marketing tasks, as may be assigned.




Education, Professional Development & Work Experience:


  • Law Degree;
  • Canadian Bar;
  • US Bar (an asset);
  • 3-5 years of corporate/business immigration experience.


Technical & Professional Skills


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and immigration software an asset;
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, precedents and government regulations;
  • Excellent communication skills – active listening, effective oral communication and written communication skills;
  • Complex Problem Solving abilities;
  • Integrity;
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting, and selling Immigration services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics and sales techniques;
  • Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems;
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
