We have an exciting Full Time Non-Unionized opportunity in the Office of the City Solicitor for an experienced and motivated individual

The Office of the City Solicitor is growing and seeking an experienced lawyer with a minimum of 5 years experience in planning law, with experience before the Ontario Municipal Board. Reporting to the Director of Legal Services, you will provide a full range of legal services, opinions and advice to City Council, Senior Management and staff, primarily regarding planning matters and related litigation. You will be required to appear before the Ontario Municipal Board, attend mediations and provide advice on by-laws and agreements on various planning instruments.
Qualifications And Experience
You are a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada and have a minimum of 5 years planning law experience in a private or public sector.
Experience appearing before the Ontario Municipal Board is preferred.
You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as negotiations skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic legal advice and information to Members of Council, Senior Management and City staff.
