Golder is currently looking for 1 Legal Counsel who is committed to serving our business for a one year contract position. As a key member of the legal team based in Mississauga, Calgary or Vancouver, you have 2 to 5 years of experience and will provide legal support related to the drafting and negotiation of engineering and construction contracts, in addition to supporting risk management initiatives.




As a key member of the legal team your responsibilities will include

  • Work closely with all business units and provide a strategic blend of business and legal advice;
  • Practice in a broad range of areas, including providing legal support related to drafting and negotiation of engineering and construction contracts; including practice risk management.
  • Review engineering and construction contracts offering guidance to project management teams; and
  • Advise on internal and external communications.


Job Requirements


The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:


  • 2 to 5 years of experience, preferably in a corporate setting practicing engineering and construction law;
  • Law degree from a recognized institution and membership in good standing with a provincial bar;
  • Experience working with engineering and construction contract drafting (providing creative solutions to risk issues), and contract negotiation;
  • An enthusiastic team player who will work well with others in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Have the ability to provide sound business and legal advice to all levels of the company.
