Economical Insurance launched this year a new in-house legal team that acts in litigation arising from claims under its insurance policies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing litigation team and accelerate your professional development.

The Legal Assistant will be part of the Economical corporate legal team and will be responsible for assisting in all administrative duties of the Litigation area.  This includes compiling, comparing and organizing legal documents for the litigation area.   The role will arrange for service and filing of court documents and other duties as required.

The successful candidate will work under the direction and guidance of a lawyer and will assist with tasks as assigned.  This role will be based out of the company’s Toronto office.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant as part of a team practicing civil litigation in Ontario (ideally insurance litigation)
  • Knowledge of Ontario court rules, practice directions and procedures
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook and all MS Office applications
