Job description Corporate Counsel       Core Purpose Responsible for providing legal support on commercial and corporate matters       Key Functions Provide strategic legal advice to managers on corporate and commercial matters, drafting, reviewing and revising contracts with a view to enhancing profitability and avoiding liability Draft, negotiate and interpret vendor, client and supplier agreements Provide legal advice on commercial agreements, IT contracts, IP matters, sponsorship and real estate matters and other areas of law as required Ensure contracts are in line with Aimia policies and procedures and the business objectives Actively participate in various projects as legal support Support legal team as required including: transactional work, analysis of documentation, drafting Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes       Required Skills and Competencies Member of a provincial bar; Minimum of 2-4 years’ of experience in a national law firm or in-house counsel; Experience drafting, reviewing and managing a high volume of corporate commercial contract matters; Team player with strong communication skills and ability to instill confidence; Able to challenge appropriately and voice alternative perspectives and viewpoints; Experience working with variety of stakeholders: employees, customers and external government agencies; Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills; Able to work in fast-moving, multiple-task and team environments with high tolerance for change; Able to provide direction and leadership in a high stress environment; Entrepreneurial spirit, good judgement and strong sense of initiative; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Sense of humour required; Experience dealing with financial institutions, and IT contracts preferred; Loyalty industry experience is an asset.
