Rogers Communications Inc. is Canada’s national communications company, engaged in three primary lines of business – wireless, cable and media. The legal department, which is comprised of more than 70 legal professionals, advises on some of the most challenging and cutting edge issues facing the telecommunications and media industries in Canada. The legal department is currently looking to recruit an additional lawyer on a 12-month contract.
You will work on a broad range of corporate/commercial matters across Rogers’ lines of business. You will provide support to the media business teams on a wide range of issues. In this role, you will draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements relating to content acquisition and distribution, sales and sponsorship and vendors and other suppliers.
For this position, your analytical, drafting, negotiating, communications and interpersonal skills are important to succeed at Rogers. You must also be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of corporate/commercial experience gained from a major law firm or company. Consumer protection and media-industry experience are assets.
