Job Description
The Legal Assistant will assist the Senior Director in her duties and will be responsible for monitoring department files and projects, as well as performing various administrative tasks for the Senior Director and the entire Legal Affairs team.
Responsibilities
Assist in all day-to-day tasks in support of the immediate superior (formatting various documents, typing legal documents, drafting correspondence, contracts, translating documents, presentations, managing the electronic agenda, etc.), making business travel reservations, preparing expense and VISA reports, obtaining payment confirmations from the Finance department when required. Assist the immediate superior on an ad hoc basis with specific projects and requests and provide administrative support to other team members when required.
Assist the immediate superior in the preparation of drafts of demand letters, releases, schedules and other documents required to manage litigation files. Prepare the various documents required to obtain all relevant information in class action and litigation files, as well as assist the immediate superior in gathering information and preparing all requested documents to be sent to the various law firms representing us in these files. Prepare correspondence to insurers to notify them of potential litigation.
Provide rigorous administrative support to the immediate superior in large-scale investigations with regulatory authorities.
Support the immediate superior in the development of the various steps and the preparation of the various documents required in anticipation of the Audit Committee meetings for 2023-2024. Ensure that requests from the president of the Audit Committee and its members are carried out in a timely manner.
Open and file documents (new and in progress) punctually in their respective folders in the electronic legal affairs directory.
Perform all other tasks related to the position.
Qualifications
Recognized studies in legal secretarial or the equivalent or a legal technique.
3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;

Tes responsabilités
Sous la responsabilité du Secrétaire corporatif, tu auras pour mandat de monter les dossiers d'immigration américaine (50%+) et canadienne, en collaboration avec le/la parajuriste et nos partenaires américains:
Évaluer les profils des candidats à l’immigration et sélectionner la meilleure option légale pour présenter les dossiers
Gérer les processus liés à l’obtention et au renouvellement des documents d’immigration
Rédiger et produire les documents officiels et formulaires à être soumis aux autorités gouvernementales pour les demandes de permis de travail, de visas, de citoyenneté ou autres documents d’immigration
Agir à titre d’agent de liaison avec l’employé dans le cadre du traitement de sa demande
Gérer et assurer le suivi des dossiers auprès des diverses autorités gouvernementales et/ ou organismes administratifs impliqués en matière d’immigration
Préparer l’employé à une entrevue d’un officier de l’immigration
Assister l’employé pour les démarches administratives annexes à son dossier d’immigration, bureau des passeports, formalités douanières,…etc.
Exécuter différentes recherches et consulter les banques de données d’organismes gouvernementaux au niveau international
Maintenir ses connaissances juridiques et procédurales à jour

Tu pourras faire rayonner tes qualités et tes compétences, notamment :
Être membre en règle du Barreau du Québec
Cumuler au moins 2 à 5 ans d’expérience dans un poste similaire
Être bilingue (parlé et écrit)
Aptitude à travailler sous pression et à respecter les échéances
Pouvoir travailler dans un environnement informatisé
Posséder d’excellentes capacités d’analyse, de synthèse et d’organisation
Être autonome et faire preuve de minutie
Disponibilité pour travailler, au besoin, hors des heures normales de travail
Orientation vers le service à la clientèle
Grandes aptitudes pour les relations interpersonnelles

Identify legal risks associated with the bank’s activities and proactively recommend solutions to mitigate such risks
Support strategic and regulatory projects
Participate to industry forums and influence stakeholders when needed (ex. regulatory changes)
