Major Purpose The Legal Assistant will provide administrative assistance and clerical support to four lawyers for the Law Services team at John Deere Canada ULC located in Grimsby, Ontario. Major Duties Coordinate office activities and provide assistance to a team of lawyers throughout all stages of their legal matters. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in support of the Law Services team. Responsible for the corporate records and records retention matters for corporate entities in Canada. Perform data entry and document formatting, maintain agendas, fill out expense accounts, arrange meetings and/or travel. Responsible for the physical and electronic filing, as well as the organization of the filing system. Required QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5+ years of legal assistant experience in an in-house department or law firm environment. Knowledge of corporate regulatory requirements relating to general corporate legal administration. Advanced administrative skills for the legal environment. Strong proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail. The ability to work professionally with people from various levels in an organization. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Adaptable and flexible individual who can work effectively as part of a team. Strong judgment and problem solving skills. Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information. Prior experience in effectively organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines for multiple, simultaneous projects. Asset Degree/College Diploma or equivalent in experience. Experience working with corporate legal computer software and websites. This position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days and unposted when a qualified pool of candidates is achieved.
