Now, Cox & Palmer is seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to play a key leadership role in its St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador office in its continued pursuit of excellence in client service and steady firm growth. Reporting to the Management Committee of the St. John’s office and working closely with the Managing Partner, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan while overseeing the administration, finance, marketing, human resources, technology, facilities, and all other operations of the Newfoundland & Labrador office. With strong leadership skills and visionary thinking, the COO will steward change, innovation and effective communications. You will work collaboratively to develop and implement business plans which detail the strategic goals and objectives of the firm, as well as marketing strategies, operating budgets, cost controls, performance measurements, administrative and human resources policies, risk management policies, priorities and procedures. The COO will consistently anticipate and plan for the firm’s evolving needs and ensure that an effective and efficient organizational structure is in place. You will guide, coach and develop the support team and add exceptional people as required. As the ideal candidate, you have most likely excelled in a professional services firm or in a corporate services leadership role. A cross functional business and financial leader, you have deep experience supporting the core business and its objectives with forward thinking and efficient operational practices. You innately understand how to enable a business to thrive through sound financial, operational and technical management.
