There is a general belief that the millennial generation
It is widely accepted for legal workers to leave a job within 5 – 7 years. This has been reported in the Wall Street Journal Law Blog reports. Thomson Reuters also concluded in a survey of in-house lawyers.
Almost 70% of the previous generation of legal staff said that a millennial would not remain in a legal role for more than 5 years. This is contrary to the millennials own belief.
Most millennials believe their next legal job will be to move up in their current legal department. The baby boomer generation of legal staff believes that their next step will be retirement.
No matter what generation was surveyed, all confirmed that their primary reason for choosing to be employed in a corporate legal department was because of work-life balance.
